These adorable Chocolate Kiss Acorn Cookies are a quick, no-bake treat perfect for Thanksgiving parties. With creamy chocolate, crunchy cookies, and salty pretzel stems, they’re fun to assemble and guaranteed to delight kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 36 mini vanilla wafer cookies (e.g., Nilla Wafers, about 1 inch wide)
  • 36 chocolate kisses (Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped)
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 45 g)
  • 18 mini pretzel sticks (broken in half)
  • Optional: 1/4 cup peanut butter chips or butterscotch chips (45 g)
  • Optional: Sprinkles or chopped nuts for decoration

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Unwrap all chocolate kisses and set aside. Break pretzel sticks in half for stems. Place cookies, chips, and optional toppings in separate bowls.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips in 15-second bursts, stirring after each interval, until smooth. Alternatively, melt gently over simmering water in a double boiler.
  3. Using a small spatula or butter knife, spread about 1/4 tsp melted chocolate onto the flat side of a mini vanilla wafer. Immediately press a chocolate kiss onto the chocolate and hold for a few seconds until it sticks. Place on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Dip one end of a mini pretzel stick into the melted chocolate. Press gently into the opposite side of the vanilla wafer (the top of the acorn) and hold for a few seconds to secure.
  5. If desired, dip the tip of the acorn (where the pretzel meets the cookie) into peanut butter chips, butterscotch chips, or sprinkles for decoration.
  6. Allow cookies to cool and chocolate to harden at room temperature, or refrigerate for 10 minutes to set.
  7. Once set, carefully remove cookies from the tray and arrange on a platter for serving.

Notes

For gluten-free, use certified gluten-free cookies and pretzels. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. For best results, serve at room temperature. Kids love assembling these cookies—just supervise the chocolate melting step. If chocolate thickens, add 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil. Customize with flavored kisses or different cookie bases for seasonal twists.
