A no-bake dessert combining salty pretzel crust, creamy cream cheese layer, and fresh strawberry jello topping. Perfect for potlucks and quick to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 ounces whipped topping (about 1 cup), thawed
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 package (3 ounces) strawberry jello mix
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, combine crushed pretzels and 3 tablespoons granulated sugar. Pour in melted butter and stir until evenly coated and crumbly.
  2. Press pretzel mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to form an even layer.
  3. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden and fragrant. Remove from oven and let cool completely (about 15 minutes).
  4. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Gently fold in whipped topping until fully combined and fluffy.
  6. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over cooled pretzel crust. Smooth the top and refrigerate while preparing the strawberry topping.
  7. In a heatproof bowl, dissolve strawberry jello mix in 2 cups boiling water. Stir for about 2 minutes until completely dissolved.
  8. Add 1 cup cold water to cool the mixture, then refrigerate until slightly thickened but not fully set (about 30-45 minutes).
  9. Gently fold sliced strawberries into the thickened jello mixture.
  10. Pour strawberry-jello mixture evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  11. Return dish to fridge and chill for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
  12. Serve chilled, cut into squares or scoop with a serving spoon. Enjoy within 2 days for freshness.

Notes

Crush pretzels to a mix of fine crumbs and small bits for best texture. Soften cream cheese before mixing to avoid lumps. Gently fold whipped topping to keep it airy. Let jello cool and thicken before adding strawberries to prevent melting the creamy layer. Chill dessert for at least 4 hours or overnight for best layering and flavor melding. Use gluten-free pretzels and dairy-free alternatives for allergy-friendly versions.
