A quick and easy recipe for crispy salmon cooked in an air fryer, topped with a sticky and flavorful honey garlic glaze. Perfect for a weeknight dinner that feels fancy without the fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 salmon fillets, skin-on, about 6 ounces (170 grams) each
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Juice of half a fresh lemon

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture and let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  3. Brush both sides of the salmon lightly with olive oil. Season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper, especially on the skin side.
  4. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Cook for 7-9 minutes until the skin is golden and crisp and the flesh is opaque and flaky.
  5. While the salmon cooks, combine minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan. Warm over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until glossy and slightly thickened, about 3-4 minutes. Avoid boiling vigorously.
  6. Transfer the cooked salmon to a plate and spoon the warm honey garlic glaze generously over the fillets. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
  7. Serve immediately to maintain crispy skin.

Notes

Pat salmon dry twice for best crispiness. Let salmon rest at room temperature before cooking. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Cook glaze gently to prevent burning. Serve immediately for best texture. Leftovers can be reheated in air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes.
