A quick and fun Halloween treat featuring layered pudding in candy corn colors with whipped topping and chopped candy corn for texture. Perfect for parties and last-minute snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (3.4 oz / 96 g) each of instant pudding mix: vanilla, banana, and orange flavors (or substitute with yellow cake mix)
  • 4 cups (960 ml) milk, preferably whole milk or 2%
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whipped topping, thawed (e.g., Cool Whip)
  • 1 cup (about 140 g) candy corn, roughly chopped
  • Food coloring (optional): a few drops of yellow and orange
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp (25 g) sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pudding mixes: In three separate bowls, whisk together each instant pudding mix with 1⅓ cups (320 ml) of cold milk and ⅓ tsp (1.5 ml) vanilla extract. Whisk vigorously for about 2 minutes until thickened. Chill milk beforehand for quicker setting.
  2. Add color and candy corn: Stir a few drops of orange food coloring into the orange pudding if desired. Fold chopped candy corn gently into the banana-flavored pudding.
  3. Fold in whipped topping: Divide the whipped topping evenly into each pudding bowl and fold carefully to keep the mixture light and fluffy.
  4. Layer the pudding cups: Spoon a layer of orange pudding at the bottom of each cup, followed by the banana-candy corn mixture, then a layer of vanilla pudding on top. Repeat layers if cups are tall enough, ending with a smooth vanilla topping.
  5. Chill: Cover the cups loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld and layers to set.
  6. Garnish and serve: Before serving, garnish with a few whole candy corns or a sprinkle of crushed candy corn on top.

Notes

Use cold milk to help pudding set faster. Fold whipped topping gently to keep airiness. Let each layer set a few minutes before adding the next for clean layers. Can substitute dairy ingredients for vegan versions. Prepare up to 24 hours ahead, adding candy corn garnish just before serving. Avoid microwaving to preserve layers.
