This Festive American Flag Taco Dip is the ultimate showstopper for your summer gatherings, especially for Fourth of July parties. It’s creamy, colorful, and so easy to make, perfect for backyard barbecues or potluck celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16 oz) can refried beans
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 1 cup salsa (chunky)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped lettuce
  • 1 cup sour cream (for the white stripes)
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup crumbled queso fresco (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the refried beans, sour cream, cream cheese, and taco seasoning. Use a hand mixer or whisk until smooth and well combined. Spread this layer evenly on the bottom of your serving dish.
  2. Gently spread the guacamole on top of the creamy base. Take your time to avoid mixing the layers.
  3. Spoon the salsa over the guacamole layer. Spread it evenly to create a smooth surface for the next layer.
  4. Evenly distribute the shredded cheddar cheese over the salsa layer.
  5. Use the sour cream to pipe stripes onto the cheese layer to mimic the white stripes of the flag. Use a zip-top bag with a corner snipped off if you don’t have a piping bag.
  6. Arrange the sliced black olives in the top left corner of the dish to represent the stars.
  7. Use the diced cherry tomatoes and sour cream to alternate red and white stripes across the rest of the dip. Sprinkle with crumbled queso fresco for an extra touch of white.
  8. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld together. Serve chilled with tortilla chips, crackers, or veggie sticks.

Notes

[‘Use fresh ingredients for better flavor and presentation.’, ‘Chill the dip for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.’, ‘Customize the spice level by adding jalapeños or spicy salsa.’, ‘Serve with sturdy tortilla chips or crunchy veggies to avoid breaking in the dip.’]
