Smoky, spicy, and sweet bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers with a creamy cheese filling and a sticky cherry BBQ glaze, perfect for quick snacks or parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 medium-sized fresh jalapeños
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (about 100 grams)
  • 12 slices thin-cut bacon
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ cup cherry preserves (about 160 grams)
  • ¼ cup BBQ sauce (60 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C) or air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wearing gloves, slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise and remove seeds and membranes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Stuff each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture, leaving a slight gap at the top.
  5. Wrap each stuffed jalapeño half with a slice of bacon, tucking ends underneath or securing with toothpicks if needed.
  6. Place wrapped poppers on a lined baking sheet or air fryer basket in a single layer without crowding.
  7. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine cherry preserves, BBQ sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Stir gently until smooth and warm, about 5 minutes. Add cayenne pepper if desired.
  8. Bake poppers for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through, until bacon is crisp and cheese is bubbly. In air fryer, cook 15-18 minutes, checking at 12 minutes to avoid burning.
  9. Brush cherry BBQ glaze over poppers about 5 minutes before done cooking to let glaze set without burning.
  10. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
