A refreshing and naturally sweet watermelon mint agua fresca that’s quick to make and perfect for kids, offering a hydrating and flavorful summer drink without added sugars or artificial flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (600g) diced seedless watermelon
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves, gently washed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 2 cups (16 fl oz / 475 ml) cold water
  • 12 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut about 4 cups (600g) of seedless watermelon into small cubes, removing any seeds.
  2. Place 10-12 fresh mint leaves in the blender jar and gently muddle them for about 30 seconds to release oils and flavor.
  3. Add the watermelon cubes and 2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice to the blender with the muddled mint. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth.
  4. Add 1-2 tablespoons of honey or agave syrup (optional) and 2 cups of cold water. Blend again for 10 seconds to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness or lime as preferred.
  5. Optionally strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher for a smoother drink.
  6. Add ice cubes to the pitcher or glasses, garnish with fresh mint sprigs if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

Muddle mint leaves gently to avoid bitterness. Adjust sweetness based on watermelon ripeness. Straining is optional depending on preferred texture. Keep chilled and add ice just before serving to avoid dilution. Leftovers can be refrigerated up to 24 hours but avoid freezing.
