These Pumpkin Pie Twists are a quick, flaky, and flavorful fall treat packed with warm spices and perfect for sharing or enjoying solo.

  • 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1 cup (240g) pure pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Granulated sugar for sprinkling
  • All-purpose flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix pumpkin puree, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ground ginger until smooth.
  3. Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets to slightly thinner than their original thickness.
  4. Spread the pumpkin mixture evenly over one sheet of puff pastry. Place the second sheet on top and press gently to seal.
  5. Use a knife or pizza cutter to slice the layered pastry into 1-inch (2.5cm) wide strips.
  6. Hold each strip by the ends and gently twist to create a spiral shape. Place the twists on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Brush the twists lightly with beaten egg and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the twists are puffed and golden brown.
  9. Let the twists cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a serving platter.
