Golden, crispy, and oozing with creamy feta goodness, these oven-fried feta rolls are the perfect appetizer. Drizzled with sweet and spicy chili honey, they are irresistible and easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Phyllo Dough (frozen, thawed)
  • 8 oz feta cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill (chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine feta cheese, cream cheese, fresh dill, and garlic powder. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  3. Unroll the phyllo dough and cut it into long strips, approximately 3 inches wide. Cover the strips with a damp towel to prevent drying.
  4. Take one strip of phyllo and brush it lightly with olive oil. Place a spoonful of the feta mixture at one end of the strip and fold the dough over into a triangle shape. Continue folding the triangle over itself until the entire strip is wrapped. Repeat with remaining phyllo strips and filling.
  5. Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down. Brush the tops with olive oil.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. While the rolls are baking, prepare the chili honey. In a small saucepan, combine honey, red chili flakes, and lemon juice. Heat over low heat until warmed through, stirring occasionally.
  8. Once the rolls are done, let them cool slightly before drizzling with the warm chili honey. Serve immediately.

Notes

[‘Keep the phyllo dough covered with a damp towel to prevent it from drying out.’, ‘Do not overfill the rolls to avoid bursting during baking.’, ‘Adjust the amount of chili flakes in the honey to suit your spice preference.’, ‘You can assemble the rolls a day in advance and bake them fresh when ready to serve.’]
