These chocolate chip cookies are soft and chewy on the inside, with crisp edges and a perfect balance of buttery sweetness and gooey chocolate. A crowd-pleaser for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup (200g) packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted unsalted butter, packed brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture. Whisk until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in chocolate chips using a spatula. The dough should be soft but not sticky.
  7. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers look slightly underbaked.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.

Notes

[“Don’t skip the melted butter—it gives the cookies their chewy texture.”, ‘Measure flour accurately to avoid dense cookies.’, ‘Chill the dough for 30 minutes if the cookies spread too much.’, ‘Underbake slightly for soft centers; cookies will set as they cool.’, ‘Experiment with different types of chocolate chips for varied flavors.’]
