A quick and easy smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel board perfect for entertaining, combining smoky salmon, creamy cheese, fresh bagels, and crunchy veggies for a crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 46 fresh bagels, plain or everything-flavored
  • 8 oz (225 g) thinly sliced smoked salmon
  • 8 oz (225 g) softened cream cheese, plain or herb-flavored
  • Half a small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons capers, rinsed
  • 1 small cucumber, thinly sliced or cut into ribbons
  • A few sprigs fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 lemon, zested and cut into wedges
  • 1 cup (150 g) cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
  • Optional: sliced radishes, avocado chunks, or finely chopped chives

Instructions

  1. Slice 4-6 bagels in half horizontally. Toast lightly for 2-3 minutes if desired and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Place 8 oz softened cream cheese in a bowl. Mix in 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh dill or chives if desired. Whip gently until creamy and spreadable.
  3. Thinly slice half a small red onion, 1 small cucumber, and halve about 1 cup cherry tomatoes. Optionally slice radishes or avocado. Arrange in small bowls or on the board.
  4. Fan out 8 oz smoked salmon slices on the board, folding or loosely rolling slices for presentation.
  5. Place bagels on one side of the serving board. Spoon or spread cream cheese in a decorative bowl or directly on bagels. Add bowls of rinsed capers and lemon wedges.
  6. Sprinkle chopped fresh dill and lemon zest over salmon and cream cheese. Add freshly ground black pepper if desired. Scatter tomato halves and cucumber ribbons around the board.
  7. Encourage guests to build their own bagels with cream cheese, smoked salmon, veggies, and capers. If serving later, cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours; add lemon wedges fresh before serving.

Notes

Toast bagels lightly to prevent sogginess and enhance flavor. Soften cream cheese at room temperature for easier spreading. Rinse capers to reduce saltiness. Arrange veggies thinly for easy eating. Assemble board shortly before serving for freshness.
