A creamy, tangy goat cheese dip with a perfect balance of spicy heat from chili flakes and sweet warmth from hot honey, topped with crunchy pistachios. Ready in about 10 minutes, it’s ideal for parties or casual snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (227 g) goat cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) hot honey, store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) chili flakes, adjust to taste
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) shelled, roughly chopped unsalted pistachios
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
  • Zest of 1 small lemon (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt, to taste
  • Fresh herbs like thyme or basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soften the goat cheese by leaving it out at room temperature for about 20 minutes.
  2. Roughly chop the pistachios, keeping some larger chunks for crunch.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened goat cheese, hot honey, and chili flakes. Stir gently until evenly mixed but still textured.
  4. Add lemon zest and a pinch of sea salt. Stir again to combine.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Drizzle olive oil over the top and sprinkle with chopped pistachios. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
  6. Serve immediately or chill for about 15 minutes to let flavors meld. If refrigerated longer, bring to room temperature before serving.

Notes

Do not overmix to keep some texture in the goat cheese. Adjust chili flakes gradually to control heat. Toast pistachios lightly for extra nuttiness. Microwave goat cheese for 10 seconds if too firm. For a smoother dip, beat with a hand mixer for 20 seconds. Serve at room temperature or gently warmed for best flavor.
