A quick and easy frozen strawberry margarita mocktail perfect for kids to beat the summer heat with a sweet, tangy, and icy refreshing drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (about 10.5 oz or 300 grams) frozen strawberries, hulled
  • 1/4 cup (2 fl oz or 60 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup (2 fl oz or 60 ml) orange juice, freshly squeezed or store-bought (unsweetened preferred)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste; agave syrup for vegan option)
  • 1 cup (8 fl oz or 240 ml) sparkling water, chilled
  • 1 cup (about 5.3 oz or 150 grams) ice cubes
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced, for garnish (optional)
  • Coarse sugar or salt for rimming glasses (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glasses by rimming with lime juice and dipping into coarse sugar or salt. Set aside to dry (about 5 minutes).
  2. Juice fresh lime and orange to measure 1/4 cup each and set aside (about 10 minutes).
  3. Add frozen strawberries and ice cubes to the blender. Pulse a few times to break up ice, then blend on high until smooth but still slushy (1-2 minutes).
  4. Pour in lime juice, orange juice, and honey or maple syrup. Blend again for about 30 seconds to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed (1 minute).
  5. Add chilled sparkling water and stir or pulse lightly to mix without losing fizz (30 seconds).
  6. Serve immediately in prepared glasses, garnished with fresh strawberry slices.

Notes

Use frozen strawberries for best icy texture; fresh berries require more ice. Adjust sweetness gradually. Chill glasses beforehand for colder drinks. Do not overblend sparkling water to keep fizz. Blend everything except sparkling water up to 2 hours ahead and add sparkling water just before serving. Clean blender immediately to avoid stains.
