A bright, tangy, and slightly spicy mango agua fresca flavored with Tajín seasoning, perfect for parties and hot days. This easy-to-make drink blends ripe mangoes, fresh lime juice, and a chili-lime kick for a refreshing tropical beverage.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large ripe mangoes, peeled and chopped
  • Juice of 2 fresh limes
  • 4 cups (960 ml) cold water
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 1 to teaspoons Tajín Clásico seasoning
  • Ice cubes, for serving

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop 2 large ripe mangoes into chunks (about 5 minutes).
  2. Add mango chunks and 4 cups cold water to a blender. Blend on high for 1 to 2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour the mango-water mixture into a pitcher. Stir in 2 to 3 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste) and 1 to 1½ teaspoons Tajín seasoning. Add fresh lime juice from 2 limes and stir well.
  4. Chill the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld. If in a hurry, add ice cubes to glasses when serving.
  5. Serve over ice, garnished with a lime wedge or a light dusting of Tajín on top. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

If the agua fresca is too thick after chilling, stir in a splash more cold water. Do not blend ice cubes to avoid diluting flavor; add ice cubes to glasses only. Substitute agave syrup or honey for sugar for a natural sweetener. Tajín can be replaced with a mix of chili powder, lime zest, and salt if unavailable. Frozen mango can be used but thaw slightly before blending.
