A creamy, crispy, and tangy dip combining bacon, ranch seasoning, and cheese for the ultimate snacking experience. Perfect for parties, game days, or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked until crispy and crumbled
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sour cream
  • 1 packet (or 2 tbsp) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 23 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: crushed buttery crackers or fried onions for topping

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon: Lay 8 slices of bacon in a cold skillet and cook over medium heat for about 8–10 minutes, flipping occasionally until crispy. Alternatively, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes on a foil-lined sheet. Drain on paper towels, then crumble once cool.
  2. Prepare the cream cheese base: In a mixing bowl, combine 8 oz softened cream cheese with 1 cup sour cream. Use a hand mixer or spatula to blend until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add seasoning: Mix in 1 packet (or 2 tbsp) ranch seasoning, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, and 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper. Stir until evenly incorporated.
  4. Fold in cheese and green onions: Gently add 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese and 2–3 thinly sliced green onions. Fold these in without overmixing to keep the texture nice.
  5. Layer the dip: Transfer half the mixture into your serving dish, sprinkle half the crumbled bacon on top, then add the remaining dip mixture. Finish off with the rest of the bacon and, if desired, a handful of crushed crackers or fried onions for crunch.
  6. Chill (optional but recommended): Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld. If in a hurry, serve immediately.
  7. Serve: Scoop with sturdy chips, fresh veggies, or warm pita wedges.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese for smooth blending. Cook bacon slowly over medium heat to avoid burning. Folding cheese gently prevents rubbery texture. Chilling enhances flavor and texture but serving immediately is fine. For dairy-free or vegetarian versions, substitute ingredients accordingly.
